Fuedo Maccari Nero d’Avola
When planning an evening I had to myself, I decided to treat my taste buds to some posh nosh and a bottle of red. I really fancied cooking lamb and was instinctively drawn to an autumnal red, something bursting with dark fruits and a touch of warming spice. Having a really good feel for Italian wines I chose to go for a Nero d’Avola, Sicily’s most popular grape variety. This was scrumptious! It worked harmoniously with the tenderness of the lamb, giving off notes of dark fruit and spiciness, together with lovely depth and structure. And for the price, you get a lot more than what you pay for!
