Aromas of morello cherry with floral hints and a touch of lightly spicy oak. The palate is elegant, yet richly-flavoured with plum, wild cherry fruit, balsamic notes and firm but ripe tannins - leading on to a long, dry and savoury finish. A textbook Chianti Classico Riserva.

A beautiful Pinot nose of dried florals. fresh red fruits of strawberry and cranberry, with an inviting extra layer of savoury earthiness. As expected the palate is delicate but with a real presence of pomegranate and strawberry. A lick of French oak helps round the tannins and make the overall structure super-velvety.

Made from a small parcel of 100 year old bush vines, this wine is a wonderful example of what can be achieved from old Carignan vines. Full red fruit flavours are complemented by a softness and roundness derived from ageing in old oak barrels. Enjoyable on its own. Perfect with a steak or roast lamb.
